Make the image and caption work together
A strong meme is readable before the viewer studies it. Keep the setup short, leave room around faces and important objects, and use contrast that remains clear on a small phone screen.
Caption structure
Top text often establishes context while bottom text delivers the turn or reaction. This is a convention, not a rule. A single concise caption can be stronger than two long sentences.
Text size and line length
Choose a size that stays readable after the image is shared or compressed. Long lines shrink visual impact. Remove filler words before reducing the font.
Padding and composition
Padding can create a clean caption band without covering the photograph. Crop the image first if unused edges compete with the subject.
Responsible reuse
Use images you created, licensed or are permitted to reuse. Avoid captions that expose private information or misrepresent real people. GetResizer provides editing controls but does not grant rights to source media.
